Kids
The station adopts a stray dog, which they name Boot. The firemen rescue a boy from a hole at a construction site; he turns out to be an abused child. Roy and Johnny rescue another boy whose head is stuck in a basement window. Dr. Early extracts a childs arm from a steering wheel. At a brush fire, Boot helps locate an injured hiker (played by a very young John Travolta), then abandons the guys for the excitement of a hook and ladder truck.

I am a big Emergency! fan and watched every episode when I was growing up! I remember wrapping up our dog with tolietpaper and trying to give him CPR! Because of watching E! I became a Medical Assistant and I love it! It makes feel good to be able to help people! I have a few family members who have also went into the medical field: My mom is an EMT, my husband is an Emergency Room Doctor, my father-in-law was also a Doctor, my mother-in-law was a nurse, I have two aunts who are nurses, a cousin who is a speech therapist, and numerous friends who are Firemen. As you can see, Emergency "runs" in the family!

I watched
EMERGENCY! since the day it aired on TV. I am once again
watching it on TVLand. It was this show the prompted me to
enter the exciting field
of emergency medicine. All I ever wanted to be was
"just like Johnny" My Mother used to tell me if I
didn't behave I couldn't watch Johnny and Roy.
Let me tell you, I was on best behavior for quite a few years as
a youngster. I owe a lot of my priorities in life to watching
these two guys save people (and cuttin' up as they so often
did). Thank You to Johny Gage and Roy DeSoto.

I grew up
watching emergency and use to hang out in the station were it was
filmed.(station #127) in Carson, CA, I had a neighbor that worked
there. I now have friends that work for LA County Fire that also
work at the fire museum. And from knowing them I've got to come
down there and help them work on the squad from 51... I never
thought when I was a kid I would actually get to help work on
squad 51 one day! I did become a firefighter do to being inspired
by Johnny And Roy. I AM A TRUE EMERGENCY
FAN!

Well, I am 18 so, I don't really have "memories" of Emergency!. I watched the reruns about two or three years ago on television and was hooked. I liked what Johnny and Roy did and how they did it. Watching this television show has changed me entire life already. I am halfway through an EMT class currently, doing clinicals several hours a week, and have been accepted to Vincennes University to get my degree in paramedicine and EMS. By the end of next year, I hope to be a certified paramedic, working here in Lafayette, Indiana with one of the fire departments. Emergency! surely has had a great affect on my life-forever!!!

I was a big fan of E! and I am enjoying watching the reruns on
TVLand. At a very early age, I knew that I was going into the
medical field (I am a Family Practicioner in Pennsylvania). At
the age of 10, and during the height of E!'s popularity, I
thought that E! taught me everything that I needed to know about
medicine--If you were sick, you needed an IV, and if you were
really sick, you needed an IV and oxygen. Imagine my surprise,
when I awoke from a minor orthopeadic surgery to find myself
hooked up to an IV and getting oxygen! I realized then that I had
alot more to learn. Emergency! will be
the show that kept my medical interest alive, gave me my first
lessons in the care of people.

I was quite young when the series premiered, I was born in
'68. But the program was my life for most of my early
years. My sister and I would set up rescues with her dolls
in our basement. The senarios usually involved a house
fire, from which we rescued at least one victim, followed by
medical care. This usually meant defibrilating the
"patient" about 17 times, and starting an IV with D5W.
My best memories are of setting up the makeshift equipment: toy phones, old tackle boxes, backpacks, etc. I became a paramedic after college, and two years after that I became a firefighter in Sudbury, Ontario. To date I am still living my dream, and I am loving every minute of it.

First I want to say thank you to Columbia House Videos for bring
back Emergency. As a child growing up I watch Emergency every day
and couldn't wait to see what the guys of station 51 faced each
and every episode. I was only 5 then emergency was broadcast on
NBC and now I am 25 I still continue to be a great supporter of
Emergency. I wish all the shows on now where like Emergency.
I have been active with the American Red Cross for the past 8 years with the Disaster Services Unit. I have also recently taken the Firefighters Entrance Exam for the city I live in hoping to become the city's second female firefighter.
Thank you,
Emergency for getting me involved and interested in becoming a
fire fighter.
